What to do about my dog’s hip problem?

I have a 9 year old rottweiler who limps every time she walks. Do I have to go to a vet or can I just get hip supplements from petco?
My dog has hip problems and i think it might be hip dysplasia?

he runs properly and fast.
he does not limp
i went through few articles online and they said hip problem is common in german shepherd dogs. I just wanted to find out if their is anyways i can find out if my dog is alright, without going to vet.
